Aura Relais

Aura Relais stands at an altitude of 632 metres, in a dominant position embracing the landscape between Urbino and Urbania. The project transformed an old farmhouse into an example of contemporary architecture, combining respect for the historical context with modern, sustainable solutions. The structure maintains the original perimeter of approximately 750 square metres, reinterpreting the interior spaces to enhance the continuity between the built environment and the landscape. The heated infinity pool, built cantilevered over the void, stands out among the most significant design solutions.

Designed to blend visually into its natural surroundings, the pool represents a technical challenge due to its placement on sloping terrain and the use of innovative materials that provide thermal insulation and efficiency. Its sober and elegant design emphasises the dialogue between architecture and nature, offering a unique perspective on the surrounding landscape. The overall intervention is characterised by the use of local materials, such as stone and wood, combined with advanced energy-saving technologies. In the interior, the old natural stone was replaced by Pietre d’Arredo reconstructed stone, in order to reflect the original wall texture of the exterior with a perfect match. Aura Relais represents a balance between tradition and modernity, a project that enhances the local heritage through a sustainable approach and innovative design solutions.
